When we were looking for a rental house,
we had a dollar amount that we were trying to stay near.
When I looked at this house, I fell in love with it but it was higher
than our target amount.
On a whim, I asked the landlord if I could cook for her
and knock down the rent.
Imagine my surprise when she agreed.
I cook once a month for her and in return
I save on our monthly rent.
It's a win-win.
That's what I did today.
*The menu*
pot roast
potato casserole
broccoli casserole
tossed salad
yeast rolls
cinnamon rolls
The only challenge is coming up with the menu every month.
Mark says it's a good deal because
he is guaranteed one good meal a month.
Get this!
When I delivered the meal today,
my landlord asked us if the sequester from our beloved government was going to affect us.
Yes!! It does and we won't dwell on that subject.
She said that she and her husband talked about it and decided to knock our rent down 10%.
Can you believe that?
Unbelievable and once again we are reminded that God always takes care of us, always.
I am so blessed.

We did something like that years ago, we agreed to do our own odd jobs in exchange for cheaper rent, it worked out well, we painted a fair bit of the house and put in a garden which I enjoyed doing, the owner was happy and we were only young so it was like training for when we got our own house.
