Yard Sales With Mark

Hope everyone had a great weekend!
We went to a friends home for a cookout
with some new friends from our church.

I didn't take any pictures because I don't want to
scare off our new found friends.
It was good to be with some fun people.

Saturday,
Mark & I have a new habit.
We got up early and ventured out to find some yard sales.
He was a happy camper when he found all those hard backs.
Has he previously read them?
Yes!
Does he have a Kindle?
Yes!
Do we already have a copy of each on our crammed bookcases?
Yes!
He didn't care because his argument was
"Wendy, they are first editions.
They are hardbacks and at 2 for $1, we need them."
Does it really mean anything if a book is a "first edition?"
I don't know but if
you could see the gleam in his eye that Clive Cussler
had signed one of them...
I think $5 well spent.

I made the girls some new bows for this summer.

Have I told you that Daniel is flying his family
out here in a couple weeks?
I am beside myself with excitement!
I can't wait!
I have lots of plans.

I can't wait to get some kisses from these beautiful kids.
Hope you have a great week!

Graduation

Another milestone has come and gone.
Elijah graduated from Preschool.

How is it possible that he starts Kindergarten in a few months?

Bella & Eli are best friends.

I am considering starting an alternative post
to my usual Five Question Friday
that I have participated in for a while now.

I liked doing it but it is geared toward a younger generation.
The questions are seldom relative to my world.

I've not done anything that you could link to
so I'm going to look into it.
I'd love some opinions and feedback from you.

Hope you are having a wonderful Sunday!

Robby & Kelly's Wedding

Robby & Kelly got married!
Their western wedding was just beautiful.

I love a wedding that is fun for all.
I love a wedding that includes burlap.

Elijah & Brinleigh

Sisters dancing.

Boys got moves.

Kacey & Eli.
Her face says it all.

Dani Mae

Beautiful family.
Kacey's face is cracking me up.
I'm sure someone was out there making faces.

Abigail is the sweetest child EVER.

I hardly have words for how I adore these kids.

Does this make you want some boots?

Congratulations Robby & Kelly!
I adore you both.

Mother's Day

Hope you had a wonderful weekend and Mothers Day.
I had a lovely day but I'm glad it is over.
First of all, I can't stand all the mushy sentiments.
I'm not the mushy kinda girl.
Second of all, I wasn't with my wonderful mom or my kids or my grandkids and that sucked.
Mark and Josh did their best to make my day special.
Josh brought me home a large Diet Coke and a box of Boston Baked Beans. He knows his mother.

Mark & I went for an early morning drive and there were about 30 hot air balloons in the sky.

We get thrilled when we see 1 or 2 but 30 was so fun.

We then went and shared a burrito for breakfast.
New Mexico is serious about their burritos.

We did enjoy spending the day together by walking and riding our bikes.
He fixed me a lovely dinner consisting of fish and shrimp.
Weird that I have craved shrimp since we moved here.
I rarely ate it in Florida where it is freshly sold everywhere.

I loved seeing Tiger win the TPC.

The kids called from the beach in Florida and texted a few pictures.

Danielle's Mothers Day wish each year is to go to the beach.
What a lovely tradition.

I remember my parents burying my brothers
and I when we were young.
They left us there so they could go swimming
and know we were safe.
I still have the scars from that experience.

I do realize that I am rotten.
I am blessed with a mom who loves me soooooo much.
She has always been there for me.
I am blessed with 3 amazing kids who are almost perfect.
They all love the Lord which is my #1 wish in life.
The all love me which is my #2 wish in life.
Pretty good to have your top 2 wishes granted.

Do you like all the sappy mothers day stuff?
Our church had a video which tried to tug at your heart.
The lady in front of me was wiping the tears from her eyes even after I said out loud..."this is so cheesy."
I guess it must work for some, otherwise there would never be a Nicholas Sparks movie again.
(I can only wish)

Whatever your temperament...
I love you all and I'm glad it's Monday.

Have a great day!

Random

Seems like I catch a cold every time I go to Florida.
The reason for that, I do not know.

I am being lazy today so hopefully I will feel better soon.

I decided when we move back to Florida
I will need to get a new hot tub.
I found these ideas on line.

Are they not gorgeous?!

Amazing how much drama a few boulders can add.

I don't know if I have shared this with you yet but our son,
Josh is starting college this month. We are so excited for him.
He also has 2 jobs so He may have to give one up.
He's been out of school for a few years now so studying may be a readjustment. I know it would be for me.

Look at this tree in my backyard.
I don't know what it is but wow! it is beautiful.

Mark and Josh took great care of all my plants and flowers while I was away. It's amazing how much change occurred in one week.
Yes, this has been a random post but that's what happens
when you are bored and don't feel good.
I'm going to blame it on the drugs.
My head feels fuzzy.

There's No Place Like Home

Didja miss me? Well, I sure missed you!
I had to make a unplanned visit to Florida.
Why? Glad you asked but the answer isn't too exciting
but any excuse to go home is ok with me.

A rental property that we own needed some TLC
before new renters moved in.
I picked out new countertops for the kitchen.
I watched Dad install them.
He is a genius.

I was there for moral support.
It made my back hurt just watching him.

I decided to have the tubs refinished while I was there.
What a difference it makes. I love it.
Can you see the difference?

I learned they can also glaze the tile.
They can give it a different color.

I learned they can glaze your formica countertop
and make it look like granite for a fraction of the cost.
I learned much.

Other than sprucing up the apartment...
I had the plan.
It was a beautiful plan that involved a day at the beach.
The "powers that be" had other plans.
It rained the whole week and was cold.
Not fair!
I planned on seeing Elijah play baseball
but the field was under water.
I planned to go to yard sales with Mom but...
you guessed it, RAIN!

Regardless of the weather,
I was able to spend some time with my family and the most precious grandkids EVER.

I got lots of kisses and hugs.
Abi showed me how she is learning to walk.

I enjoyed every packed moment.
I stayed with Kristen in her new apartment.
We had fun shopping at Ross and decorating.

Our Florida church had their first service in a new building
and I was tickled to be there.

It is good to be back home with my honey.
I'm looking forward to sleeping on my own Serta.
Thanks for all of you who checked in on me.
I love you all.

Weekend Fun

When I started this post it was Friday,
then I got sidetracked and couldn't find a spare minute
to get back to it.
Mark came home from work
and wanted to go out so off we went.

Kohl's sent me mail this week with a secret coupon to peel off.
I got an extra 30% off everything in the store.
Just try and stop me!
I had a good time.
While we were out some friends called and asked us to go for a drive up the mountain with them.
We ran home to grab out jackets and off we went.
Glad we did because there is still snow up there.

We hiked along the crest of the mountain
and found an old rock cabin.
It was built by the Civilian Conservation Corp (CCC's) in 1936.

Mark climbed to the top.

He's such a stud-muffin.

I started off this post with Five Question Friday and I am determined to get it posted no matter what day it is.
So... here it goes 5QF on Saturday.

1. Who drives when your family is together, you or your spouse?
It's is a toss up. I usually make the decision who is the designated driver because Mark doesn't care one way or the other.
He is good like that.

2. Are you an introvert or extrovert?
I'm pretty outgoing. I always have an opinion.
Remember... a person that is outgoing usually has insecurities.
I worry a lot that I talk too much or say the wrong thing.
I don't want to offend anyone ever but I'm sure I do.

3. Are you married to an introvert or extrovert?
This is a tough one.
I actually think he is an introvert.
He's a genius and thinks about everything so while he is thinking, the conversation has usually moved on.

4. What's your favorite type of social media?
I like a little bit of everything. I check my facebook
account every now and then to see if there are any new pictures of my grandkids. I Tweet some but not much.
My interest comes and goes with social media.

5. What your favorite way to "recharge"?
The beach is the best "getaway" ever.
I feel like I've been on vacation after a few hours at the beach.

Before I close...
a word of advice...
don't go see Mud
I thought with Matthew McConaughy & Reese Witherspoon
that I would enjoy it but it was boring and had no point.
Remember,
if you do go... I warned you.

Hope you are enjoying your weekend!
Love to All
